RIP, Lion King

Lion King has passed away a couple of months ago.. He was an old cat and perhaps his time has come. His body was found rotting in a nearby drain.

May his death be a good and swift one.

Rest in peace, Lion King..

Lion King (robbed of his manhood)

*Lion King was sent to Clinic for Pets on 9th May 08 to be 'de-balled'*

Lion King is the most territorial of all cats in BTSS, marking his scent everywhere by spraying his potent liquid onto anything he fancies - car tyres, trees, motorbikes, chasing away other wandering felines who may be thinking of making the school their home. His behaviour may change after 2 or 3 months when the level of the testosterone drops.

Read up more on spraying here: http://www.dumpstercats.org/Articles/SprayingBehavior.htm

An extract:
Sterilizing a cat before he or she reaches maturity (unfortunately Lion King is already very old) is a good way to prevent spraying. For example, 90% of male sprayers stop within two months after neutering. Unfortunately, you could still have one of those 10% cats, who continues to do it after he’s neutered because it is a learned habit.

If the cat is neutered before it ever sprays, it very likely will never begin spraying at all.

thats true because my 4 year old male kitty never sprayed as he was sterilized between 4 to 6 months of age.

Meowie

Meowie is terribly shy and will NOT let anyone go near her. she is very vocal and meows nonstop. the closest i have gotten was at least a metre away. any inch closer would have her scooting off like a flash of lightning. perhaps its due to a previous bad experience with a human.

my second furry friend - Manja (previously known as Chatterbox)

this little bugger is extrememly loving and trusting, hence the name, Manja. her tummy seemed to be swelling by the day and i had to do something about it. exploding cat population in the school would not be welcomed and is definitely not wise. packed her off to be snipped on 14 Feb 08 (regrettably her babies were lost) and she lost a great deal of blood as she was actually near delivery. luckily she recovered well and thanks to the compassionate vet, the lodging fees were waived and she was even attended to personally by the vet as he too fell in love with her sweet nature.

back in school on 20 Feb and currently still a very happy resident of BTSS.

First furry friend I met - Elusive

Meet Elusive (XXXX - 24 Jan 2008)

She was as elusive as her name suggests. Shy and wary, its never easy to go anywhere near her. She was the first furry thing I spotted on my first day to school.

Elusive passed away peacefully on the 24 Jan 2008 due to an unknown illness, most likely cancer. She will be dearly missed.

Days at the vet

rest in peace, my dear. go over to the rainbow bridge where u will fly high and be free from suffering.
